Peoria Area Trick or Treat Hours and Safety Tips

By Julia Briggs, Macaroni KID Peoria October 29, 2023

Here's your list of trick-or-treat times for the Greater Peoria Area.

Please Note:  Macaroni KID Peoria has made every effort to list accurate times for each municipality. Please check with each town/city/village before heading out with your little ghosts and goblins.

Trick or Treating Safety Tips:

  • An adult parent or guardian should accompany children
  • If older children plan to trick-or-treat alone, plan a route, make sure they have one or more cell phones and set an agreed end time. Call to check in periodically.
  • Only go to homes that are well-lit and have a porch light on
  • Never go inside a home or car for a treat. Remain on the doorstep when visiting a home.
  • Put reflective tape on bags and costumes
  • Children and adults should have flashlights and stay in well-lit areas
  • Dress warmly
  • Always use the sidewalk, if available. If there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic and stay off the road as much as possible.
  • Cross the street as a group, at crosswalks if available
  • Do not run across the street
  • Be very careful with costume accessories such as swords and knives
  • A parent or guardian should check all treats before eating, in case of allergies or tampering. Avoid homemade treats.
  • Be very careful around luminaries, candles, and open flames.

Have a safe and FUN Halloween 🎃
