The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum is turning 5! Thanks to the work of the Junior League of Peoria in partnership with the Peoria Park District, the Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum opened its doors in 2015. Since then, Peoria families have been able to explore the power of play in their lives! Thank you to the Junior League for helping to create a space for children to play, create, imagine, and explore!
Even though the building is closed, the museum is offering virtual programming, including three great ways to celebrate our fifth birthday:
1. Join us for a Virtual Dance Party!
June 12th, the fifth anniversary to the day of when we opened our doors to the public, will be our big celebration! On Friday, June 12th, from 4:00-5:30pm, we will have a 5,000 second dance party to celebrate our 5th year! Join us to learn some dance moves with local dance studios and dance along with other friends of the PlayHouse! This dance party will take place over Zoom, and we will be joined by local dancers from Peoria Area Performing Arts Studio (PAPAS), Peoria Ballet, and more.
Is your child celebrating a birthday in June? Let us know so we can give them a special shout-out during this virtual celebration! Email us at playhouse@peoriaparks.org with your child's first name and age.

2. Celebrate through Art!
The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum believes in supporting children as makers, inventors, and next-generation innovators that will fundamentally change our world. In celebration of our 5th birthday and in honor of our making philosophy, we are holding an art auction to support local artists and makers. This auction will open on Friday, June 5th and close on Friday, June 12th and 50% of the proceeds from all winning bids will go back to the artist who created the piece. Thank you for supporting the PlayHouse and local makers, big and small!

3. Get your Birthday Party Pack!
In order to help you celebrate, the PlayHouse has created exclusive party packs filled with inspiration for throwing your own party for the PlayHouse! These party packs will be a digital guide to celebrating at home. They will include instructions for creating a party hat, the PlayHouse's favorite cupcake recipe, and more.
Party packs will be available to those who donate any amount in honor of our 5th birthday.
